Welcome to my home! Today I want to share my Christmas mantle with you all! Did I mention that I seriously love all things Christmas? I love the smell of pine and citrus. I love Christmas cards from my friends and family. I love burlap and sparkle. This mantle in a combinations of all these lovely things!
As soon as I start getting Christmas cards, I start displaying them on the mantle. Seeing all my loved one's smiling faces just makes me so happy!
Since clementines are one of my favorite things on earth and this garland looked like it needed some color, I threw some in. Why not? I love the pop of orange.
I made these stockings a few years ago and I still just adore them!
To make them I simply traced an existing stocking. I made a cuff and just laid it on there while I sewed around the outside. These stockings have a raw edge, which means I didn't sew the seem and then turn it inside out, I just let the seem hang out.
This was the easy way to do it. And, surprisingly, they are pretty sturdy. I fill them up year after year and I've never had any problems.
For the birds, I just found images of birds online, traced them and cut bird silhouettes out of white felt.
I glued the birds on with hot glue (make sure to put a piece of paper or something in the stocking while you do this so you don't glue the stocking together.
I added feathers and a crystal eye to each bird. Super easy as far as making stockings go.
