Fall time is one of my most favorite times! Isn't it just so cozy? My little succulent garden is also cozy! I mean, it's planted in mugs. Mugs! DIY Anthropologie monogram knock-off mugs no less. I know, you're excited...
PS I originally shared this idea last week on The Crafting Chick's blog. I just love those girls!
Here's how I did it. I just a glass paint marker to draw the monograms. At first, I thought it would be a good idea to use a stencil and stick it to my mug with adhesive spray. Sounds good. But It didn't work. The marker bled under the stencil. Bummer. So I had to draw them all by hand.
Good thing is was easy with this marker. After it dries you can use your fingernail to push the ink to create a straighter line. Just push the ink towards where you want it to go. Also, if you mess up, you can clean it off with soap and water and start again.
Follow the directions on your pen. I had to let the paint cure for 8 hours before baking it. Once you bake it it's permanent and dishwasher safe.
I grabbed a few succulents at the hardware store (they were 50% off, bonus) and added a little soil and planted them in there. I water them with a spray bottle, so they don't need to drain, and I keep the by a window.
They are just the perfect touch of Fall for my home.
However you choose to use your mugs, they will be super darling. I think I am going to have to make some more for my coconut steamed milk this Winter.
