Today I am going to tell you how to get a manicure that lasts a full three weeks and you get to choose your fave color! Life changing... legit.
I started going to Susie, i.e. the best nail tech ever, about a year ago. Nail polish lasts about one day on me, not exaggerating, and even shellac only lasted a week. So I needed a longer-term solution. I like to keep my nails short and I like color. What was the solution???
Now my manicures last three full weeks and they are in great shape when I go back to see Susie.
Here's the thing, Susie has been doing nails for over 20 years. She uses quality products and does a great job. When I asked her for a solution she told me that a nail product rep had told her about mixing polish with a particular gel product, Young Nails Mani-Q. But, she warned, it doesn't mix great with every brand of polish. For instance, Susie finds it works well with OPI but not Essie. I happened to own a bottle of Sonia Kashuk polish from Target in a color that I loved, so we decided to give it a try. This brand of polish works best with the gel.
When your nail tech mixes the polish with the gel, start with a 1:1 ratio; half polish, half gel. The gel will dilute the color a little.
Another benefit of this mani is that if I get a chip (super rare) or I can't get to Susie to get them redone and I have too much growth... I just fill in with the nail polish!
I hope you find a nail tech that can do this for you. It seriously is life changing! I never have to worry about how my nails look. AND I'm not limited to the colors of shellac that they happen to have on hand.
