Welcome Friends, to the Summer Tablescape Party! I am so excited to be working with some fabulous bloggers on this fun post. So take a gander at my beach-inspired table setting and then go check out, Finding Home, Uncommon Designs, Thistlewood Farms, Jennifer Rizzo, and Design, Dining & Diapers!
We also have a Pinterest board with more summer tablescape inspiration. And, you can follow each of these ladies on Pinterest.
Now for my creation... I wanted to create a casual yet sophisticated Summer beach-inspired table... here's what I came up with.
I staged the whole thing on my front porch because I thought my blue house would make a nice backdrop.
When I think beachy, I think crystal blues, lots of glass, white sheets blowing in the wind, weathered wood... don't you just want to go there right now?
I used my fine china (for the sophistication) but I didn't press the napkins (for the casual).
That weathered wood you see is actually paper! Yep, paper!
I created the chevron burlap napkin rings with printed burlap ribbon wrapped and pinned around the napkins.
For the centerpiece I used a blue tray and a great big apothecary jar filled with shells. Then I surrounded it with bottles of sparkling strawberry beverage. Have you ever thought of using drinks for a pop of color?
The placecards might just be my favorite things ever! I filled little hobnail glasses from IKEA with moss and stuck some cards that I designed and printed on cardstock in there. Placecards are formal but I did them in a very casual way.
I hope y'all appreciate my ghost chairs more than my husband does. I love them! And I really love them as part of this arrangement.
The moss reminds me of the soft, short grass that grows near the beach in Southern California. I love the lush green and the texture.
I tried to create a light, flowy feeling.
What would it be without a vintage find or two? I love these candle sticks! I found them treasure hunting a couple years ago.
Milk glass water cup (which are actually from IKEA) and blue striped paper straws bring a casual aire to the table. I like to keep it fresh and a little playful :)
I hope you all enjoyed my Summer tablescape and that you also had a chance to check out the others. It was so fun to put together. If you have a Summer dinner party, I hope you use some of these ideas! I would love to hear about it :)
